1. Every producer who propose halal certificate need to register in LPPOM MUI secretariat with rules as follow:
   
  a.  Cultivation industry
    -Producer registering all products from same location and/or same brand.
    -Producer must register all production location including toll manufacturing and packing factory.
    -Rules about toll manufacturing must be provided by halal product certified company or halal certification proposed company.
      
  b.  Restaurant and Catering
    -Restaurant and Catering must register all menus sold including deposit products, tarts/birthday cake or seasonal menus.
    -Restaurant and Catering must register all branches, kitchens and warehouses.
      
  c. Animal Slaughtering House
    -Producer must register all slaughtering house in one similar company.
      
2. Every producer who proposes for Halal Certification for their products must fill in the provided form. This form contains information about company data, name and product line, also materials used.
      
3. A complete fulfillment form with supporting document is returned to the LPPOM MUI secretariat to be verified the completeness and if there’s any incomplete data then the company must re-complete it according to the rule.
      
4. LPPOM MUI will inform the company about auditing schedule. LPPOM MUI Auditor team will audit/observe on location of producer, while company is running the production process of certified product.
      
5. Auditing report and laboratory result (if needed) will be evaluated in LPPOM MUI Auditor Meeting. The insufficient Auditing report due to the requirement will be informed to the company through audit memorandum. If it is meet the requirement, then the auditor will report the audit result to be brought in MUI Fatwa Commission Trial to declare the halalness.
      
6.
 The Auditing Report will be brought by LPPOM MUI official in MUI Fatwa Commission Trial on settled schedule.
      
7. MUI Fatwa Commission allowed refusing the auditing report in case of any insufficient fulfillment of requirements, and the result will be informed to the producer who proposed for halal certification.
      
8. Halal Certification is carried out by Indonesian Council of Ulama after being declared the halalness status by MUI Fatwa Commission.
      
9. Halal Certification is valid for 2 (two) years from the date of fatwa declaration.
      
10. Three months before end of Halal Certification validation, producer must propose for renewal of Halal Certification according to the rule stated by LPPOM MUI.
Auditing Manual
Auditing for halal product consist of:
 
1. Management by producer in assuring the halalness of the product (Halal Assurance System).
   
2. Verification of specified documents describing nature of materials, composition and production process and/or supported halal certification, material blend and storage document, production formula and documents of comprehensive implementation of halal production process.
   
3. Field observation including whole production process from material receipt, production, packaging and storage, also serving for restaurant/catering/outlet.
   
4. Legal aspect of document and physical appropriateness of each material must be fulfilled.
   
5. Sampling for necessary material.


Halal Certification Validation
Halal Certification is valid for two years, but for exported meat the Halal Notification Letter will be given for every shipment.
 
Monitoring System
 
1. Company must implementing Halal Assurance System within the validation term of Halal Certificate.
   
2. Company must assign internal auditing report every 6 months after Halal Certificate has been published.
   
3. Changes in materials, production process and etc, urges the company to report and asking for allowance from LPPOM MUI.
 
 
Halal Certification Renewal Procedure
 
1. Producer must be registered and fill in the available form.
   
2. Form is filled in due to the latest progress/condition of product.
   
3. Producer must re-complete list of basic material, matrix of product versus material, also specification, halal certificate and flowchart of recent product.
   
4. Audit procedure for renewal is done in the same procedure as new product registration.
   
5. Company must already have manual of Halal Assurance System in accordance to the halal certification procedure mentioned above.
